Magnetic Basketball Training Boards

Overview

Magnetic basketball training boards are a device aimed at giving basketball players an effective means of measuring their jumping ability. This has made it easier for basketball players to measure the height of their jump.

How to Use
The player stands with her feet planted firmly on the ground. She must take one of the included magnets and jump as high as possible. Once they reach the height of their jump, the magnets should be placed on the board at that point. The player must jump from a standing position in order to achieve the most accurate result when using this board. This jumping measurement should be done multiple times. An average of the jumps should then be derived from the number of jumps. The magnets are then removed for the next set of measurements to be taken.

Set Up
The product does not include any mounting hardware so consideration must be taken when choosing where and on what surface to mount the apparatus. The player could graze the board on the way down from a jump, causing the board to fall and break if not secured properly. If applying to a concrete or cement wall, tools will be needed to insert the screws into the wall. If applying it to drywall, a stud finder will be needed in order to find a sufficient mounting point to hang the board. It is also important that the area around the mounted board be open to account for any falls that could occur when the player lands after jumping.

Layout
This training board is about 34 inches in full length. It contains silk screen graduations in increments of 1/2 inch on a metal board that goes from 1 to 32 inches.

Adjustment
The magnetic basketball training board is difficult to move from one place to another. It's not practical to take the board down and move it to another spot on the wall, or to another wall because it requires extensive hardware that is not included in the package. However, the position and height of the board can be changed by sliding the easy-to-adjust metal board up and down to accommodate the heights of children and adults.

Advantages
This type of jump training apparatus has several advantages over other devices. It is much more accurate to use the magnetic placement rather than the different types of chalk, tape or ink that are customarily used to mark height on other training boards. When using these, the marking tends to be less consistent, and requires erasing or placement of new marking material.
